Dyslexia is a defect which causes difficulties with
learning language based skills. It is not related to
the intelligence but more with difficulties in spelling,
reading, writing and sometimes speaking. The causes of
dyslexia are not very clear but it mostly occurs because
of the difference in the way that the brain processes
given information.
Most experts agree that it occurs because of biological
or physiological differences that tend to run in families.
People with it tend to have difficulties with short term
memory, mathematical ability, information coordination,
concentration and ability to do things in a proper sequence.
While some people might view this as a problem many associate
this deficit with other strengths and talents like increased
creativity and innovation, intuitive problem solving skills
and good lateral thinking ability.
The reading problems could include hesitancy or inaccuracy
while reading, having difficulty in recognizing words or
reading words in reversed manner. A majority of the people
with dyslexia can be treated with the help of tutors,
specialists and therapists and can then learn to read and
write perfectly well. Some people with dyslexia are sensitive
to light or certain colors.
If you suspect that your child has dyslexia, the first step
that you can do to help him/her is to be as supportive as
possible and try and build up their confidence. You can read
more about dyslexia and find out more from your doctor or a
specialist to help you get better equipped with the challenges
and problems to face them better. You need to keep a record of
your child’s activities and note down how they deal with certain
situations.
This information can help when you want to look back and discuss
the child’s progress with a specialist. You should try and visit
the child’s school as often as you can to get feedback from the
teachers about the child’s abilities and problem areas. You can
meet parents of children who have dyslexia to share their tips
and help them with your feedbacks.

Preparing Your Garden for the Winter
Winter gardening is possible though several people
think that when the winter season comes and the
weather starts getting colder, gardening tools have
to put aside and wait for spring to enjoy gardening.
That is wrong because winter is as essential time to
manage and maintain the health of your plants and
assure that you’ll be having a good crop in the
coming seasons. It takes not more than one day to
prepare your garden for winter.
The ideal time to prepare your garden in winter is
when the temperatures during the night fall to less
than 40 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 4 consecutive
days (usually when the month of October and November come).
You can start it by garden design evaluation; by checking
which plants grew healthy in the past season and which
were not. As you may not know it, the best time to
determine which plants will grow and better bloom in
the next year is fall.
After doing that, you should begin weeding as part of
your winter gardening preparation; managing falling
leaves because rotten leaves and weeds carry insects
and diseases that might detrimental to your plants’
health. As the fall has passed, you would see rotten
leaves and branches. Trimming some rotten tree branches
do not affect of that big for your plants’ health, however,
these may fall and block too much sunlight that your
plants need.
After finishing these tasks, be sure to put your gardening
tools to there places to avoid rusting and be used again
when the next season comes. You should also manage all
the slugs because this bugs are worst to stay in your
garden. And if you have fish in your pool or fountain,
be sure to take them inside when the winter comes.

Keep The Humidity Down To Reduce Mold
Controlling the humidity level in your home is one
of the most important things that you can do to
make sure mold does not start to grow and this is
not very difficult to do. You do not want to make
the air in your home too dry, though, since this
can cause nose bleeds and other forms of nasal
irritation for the members of your household.
Air that is too dry or too wet can cause problems
for any respiratory system, so keeping the humidity
level in your home around a medium level is optimum.
Keeping the humidity down in the house means reducing
the moisture across all areas of the home. Wash wet
clothes and dry them as soon as possible to keep the
moisture from evaporating in the laundry room and
never put dry dirty clothes on top of wet ones.
Mold loves warmth and moisture, so you are only
helping their cause by doing this. It really is a
bad habit to let yourself get into, so try to wash
damp towels at least once a day instead of letting
them dry in the laundry room naturally.

How is Anxiety Caused?
Anxiety can be quite detrimental to your appearance,
your social life and sometimes your overall health.
When it lasts for long periods of time, it becomes
a serious issue that should be addressed by a medical
professional. Like any other health problem, there
are many causes that can lead to severe anxiety.
Past traumatic experiences can have a profound impact
on the amount of anxiety that we regularly feel. Children
who grew up in extremely abusive environments often grow
up to very anxious adults. Veterans of war many times
come back with a heightened level of anxiety. And also,
survivors of major disasters are prone to severe anxiety
disorders.
Since we often can trace the direct cause of our anxious
behavior, the next step is to find ways to work through it.
There is no point to going through life constantly feeling
tense and worried. Over time, it will take its toll on you
and you will find yourself feeling worn out and restless.
Remember to take a step back, breathe, relax, and get
plenty of rest. Everything falls into place. There is no
need to worry about every little thing, because every
little thing is going to be all right.

Gentle Care for Long Hair
When you decide to grow your hair out long, one
of the things you have to be most careful about
is how much you damage it. You probably know
that most dyes and perms are hard on your hair,
just as heat is, but the things you do to it
every day without even thinking can do quite
a bit of damage as well.
When you wash your hair, you may be in the habit
of washing the entire length. But really the part
that needs it is the roots. So shampoo only that
part. The rest will generally be adequately cleaned
by the shampoo running down it and by the conditioner
you use.
If you think about that, you may quickly realize
that this means you should not be piling your hair
on top of your head to wash it. Piling it up like
that is more likely to damage your hair than just
letting it hang down your back as you wash the part
that really needs it.
Make sure you use a conditioner every time you wash
your hair, and use a good one. This will help you when
you are combing your hair, as tangles will come out more
easily.
Towel dry your hair gently too. Don't scrub your scalp,
as this damages and knots the hair. You can use a towel
turban or just have a towel across your back for your
hair to dry on. This is far gentler on your hair.
Obviously, don't use a hot blow dryer either. Use a
cool one if you must, but letting your hair air dry
on its own is best.
Use a good quality comb to remove tangles from your
hair when it is dry. Avoid doing this to wet hair,
as it is more easily damaged when wet. A good comb
is cut from a single piece of plastic, not one that
is cast from a mold. If your comb has rough spots it
can do tremendous damage to the length of your hair.
Comb by starting with the first few inches, and
working your way up. You do not want to be tugging
knots down the entire length of your hair, catching
more knots as you go. You'll do better to get the
knots lower down first.
If you come to a difficult knot, start working at it
from the bottom, smoothing that out, and working your
way up through it gently. Try not to tug a lot.
A lot of people with long hair wear it up regularly
because it's just better for it. This is especially
true if you're going to be out on a windy day.
A simple bun or braid can protect your hair.
It's also fun having your hair up most of the time,
then surprising the people who thought they knew
you when they find out how much hair you really have!
I have actually been using these tips and my hair feels
a lot healthier and stronger. I have past shoulder length
hair, it used to be down to my knees and ever since I
cut it I can not get it grow long again. So hopefully
this helps.

Does Stress Make Acne Worse?
If you are not aware of your particular skin type
and the medications that are good for your skin
type and the myths about acne than you are in
danger of causing more damage to your skin instead
of getting rid of acne. Since most people cannot
differentiate between what is truth and what’s
just another acne myth when they begin treating
their acne, so they end up wasting a lot of their
time and money on products and medications that
either don’t work at all or are not good for
their particular skin type. An idea that is widely
believed to be a myth is the effect of stress on acne
and skin disorder.
Can acne actually occur due to stress? There are plenty
of evidences that suggest that stress can most surely
cause acne or make an existing skin condition worse.
Our bodies are highly developed chemical laboratories
that produce all sorts of stuff.
Basically reducing stress level is actually restoring
a hormonal balance in your body and that will help
reduce production of sebum. So to sum it up this
factor should be address apart from using medication
to manipulate the excessive sebum production. This way
of fighting acne can help in eliminating the problem
effectively.

Natural Methods to Eliminate Fleas
Fleas can be a terrible nuisance; they usually
feed on the blood of animals including cats and
dogs but can also be passed on to humans. They
can cause terrible irritation and for younger pets,
potentially make them very ill.
Fleas can develop on animals at great speeds,
but the eggs usually end up dropping off of the
animal, and into carpets, where they can stay
dormant for years. Your main task is to find the
culprit of these fleas and eliminate them. But
before buying chemicals to rid of them, you may
want to try natural forms of flea control protection
and prevention. You could also try a few home made
remedies which do sometimes tend to do the trick.
As mentioned fleas can live and breed in carpets,
so you should regularly vacuum the floors on a daily
basis, to avoid fleas from thriving. You should also
regularly empty the contents of the Hoover, as you
do not want them to start breeding in there.
If you notice fleas on your pet, you should carefully
comb him or her with a flea brush; once you notice
these fleas coming off onto the brush, you should
then proceed to eliminate them, by washing them down
the drain hole, or flushing them down the toilet.
Finally before your pet goes to sleep you should give
it a wash to make sure you have eliminated all of the
living fleas.
A lot of people tend to forget to treat a pet from the
inside when it gets infested, you should therefore
maintain a healthy diet for you pet, but not forgetting
to create a smell that fleas simply cannot handle.
One of the most common supplements that you can give a
pet is Brewers yeast and zinc, these usually take around
4 weeks to give off a scent from the body that repel fleas,
so do not feel let down if you are not seeing results
after only a few days.
You must always remember that once the fleas have been
eliminated, you should always keep up regular maintenance
to avoid them coming back. Other then that, keeping the
pets bedding clean and strengthening there immune systems
will help in the elimination protocol. If you are still
having trouble ridding of your pets fleas, you may well
want to visit a pest store, either online or offline,
where you can in fact obtain natural flea eliminators,
which have been specifically created to help the environment.

Cheating Signs - How can you tell?
The very thought that one’s sweetheart may not
be perfectly true hearted is enough to keep us up
at night. Does she have secret rendezvous with
another man? Is he cheating on you? Such questions
plague us no end. Numerous ladies are saddled
with unfaithful spouses or boyfriends. Often
women think it in their minds but cannot come
to a definite conclusion. At times women end
up charging their lovers wrongly. This can be
disconcerting but there are signs which will
let you know for sure if your man is indeed
straying and for this you need not exert
yourself too much.
Men display very many signs which show
if they are straying. A major indicator
of a disloyal lover is in the emotional
displays prefabricated by such a man. But
it is not cushy to understand or unravel
emotional signals since these are very
elusive and faint, especially in men.
And one needs to have confirmation before
they can absolutely believe these. In
any case, dealing with feelings has never
been an cushy task. Feelings are difficult
to define and subject to much change. Over-charged
emotions may lead us to false conclusions
and we end up acting unusually. Openly
expressed feelings may also give away your
secret. All this notwithstanding, emotional
responses are still the best way of judging for
yourself the infidelity of your lover.
Here are some ways to unravel the mysteries about
what emotions inspires which action in your beloved.
Here is a list for you traits that you will surely
see in your lover if they are actually cheating:
1. His phone bill has a new number listed on it
and the data shows that the number is frequently
called every day. When you call this number a
woman’s voice is heard on the other end.
2. Many times in a day when you pick up calls
on his mobile or land line someone hangs up at
the other end.
3. He isn’t as interested in sex as he used to
be.
4. He makes alterations in the way he dresses
and won’t explain why.
5. When you take his clothes for a laundry
wash you come cross ways little slips of paper
bearing unknown numbers.
6. He doesn’t hang out with you as much as he
used to and prefers to spend more time with his
guy friends or even ‘working late’.
7. He acts erratic and charges you with disloyalty,
all the time acting jealously.
8. You can smell a woman’s perfume on him on the
several evenings that he returns home late. It is
the same perfume apiece time.
9. Every time he picks up the phone goes out of
the room and speaks very softly into the phone.
When you ask him who it was he says it was a call
related to work.
10. He makes sudden phone calls to you and tries
to find out if you have prefabricated plans to
venture out later with your family or your friends.
Despite all of the above mentioned you must ask
your lover if he is actually being unfaithful to
you or having an affair with another. When
confronted with this question his reaction will
make the answer all too clear to you. A cowardly
mortal will not scruple to lie though. You must
notice his facial expressions very closely
therefore which will certainly give him away.
While ending a relationship can be depressing
it is necessary for you to separate from a partner
who is not faithful. It is much better if you
come to know the hard facts at the early doable
time. A bond which the other mortal does not
honour is a bogus one and will only make you
miserable. Only by breaking away from it can
you begin life afresh. At no point are you to
blame yourself since a cheating nature can never
be satisfied with any one woman and this vicious
cycle will probably continue for the man in question.

Home Security Sign: Help To Deter Criminals
The idea behind having a home security sign posted
on your residence is that burglars tend to shy away
from homes that include a security sign on their
front lawn, in addition to stickers on doors
and windows that read that a home alarm is
present to warn would-be intruders. It is likely
that most burglars are aware that some homes only
have a sign without an alarm, still the chances
are they will still bypass that house as a target.
Many times a home security sign will give the
indication of coming from a professional alarm
company, and most of the time that is true.
There are however some humorous ones out there,
which gave the intruder pause. There is one that
reads to a would be intruder that the home is
protected three days a week by a large snake.
It is left up to the imagination of the would-be
intruder to figure out which three. Another example
of such a home security sign reads that the home
is guarded by Smith & Wesson; implying that the
owner has a gun inside.

Get Rid of Working Mom’s Guilt
1. Remember what you’re working for. Focus on what is possible for you and your family because you work instead of things that you feel you’re missing out on. Do your kids have good healthcare coverage because of your work? Is your family able to afford a better life because you contribute? Are you saving for college by working? These are all great contributions and thinking about them daily will remind you to fell less guilty.
2. Accept that you can’t be all things to all people. Juggling work and family is hard and it requires that you compromise. You may have to say no to a colleague who is asking for your help or not volunteer at your kids’ school.
3. Involve your kids. To spend more time with your kids, involve them in helping you with things like making dinner or shopping for groceries. Remember that it’s the quality of time that you spend with your family that counts vs. the quantity of it.
4. Talk about it. If you let your feelings of guilt pile up, they might get worse. Talk to your family, your husband, your significant other, or a friend about how you feel. Letting off some steam can be extremely helpful.
5. Seek support. Spend time with other working moms. Try to make time to meet with a working mom friend for a coffee or just hang back after drop off to talk to a few working moms at your kids’ school. Talking to other working moms who share your daily work/life juggle and who probably have some of the same feelings can be extremely supportive.

Money Management For The Single Parent
Everyone has their own unique financial situation to deal with. It can be difficult to manage money, especially for those who are operating with limited funds. Single parents are in this category, as they are working with only one income and may or may not receive child support. Especially for single parents who are not receiving child support payments, managing money can be overwhelmingly challenging. For single parents, it is all about stretching the budget as far and as wide as it will go. This article outlines several money management tips for the single parent.
Ways For Single Parents To Save Money
One of the best ways for single parents to save money is on grocery expenses. This can be done in a variety of ways. First, be sure to get the Sunday newspaper for the coupons. Coupons can also be found on many online websites. Additionally, look for the weekly flyers for the grocery stores where you shop. When combined with coupons, items on sale in the weekly flyers will help cut costs. With a little bit of extra planning, it is easily possible to save $30.00 or more per shopping trip.
Another way that single parents can save money is by purchasing necessary items such as furniture or other household things at a discount. This can be done by using websites such as Craigslist.org or eBay.com or by looking in the classified section of your local newspaper. Discounted items can be either new or used, but it is always better to look in these places for needed items before purchasing them brand new in a retail store at full price.
Setting Goals For Yourself And Your Children
It is especially important for single parents to set financial goals for themselves and for their children. Big financial goals such as paying for college for your children can be achieved with the right planning. Even things which seem unattainable to a single parent can be obtained. Starting small can lead to big savings over time.
Understand Your Cash Flow
If you don’t have control over your finances, it can be next to impossible to set financial goals and to later achieve them. You can start by analyzing your finances and setting up a personal budget and comparing your income to your expenses. If you do not have enough left over at the end of the month to save, you must evaluate how you are spending your money to find places to cut back.
Retirement As A Goal
Everyone must retire sometime, so financial planning for your retirement should be something you are thinking about. Setting up a 401K with your employer or a retirement savings account through your bank will ensure you are ready to retire when the time comes. Even if it is just a small percentage of your paycheck, many employers have a matching program that will give you more bang for your buck. In the end, you could have twice the amount saved by using a 401K than if you had just saved on your own.

The Importance of Teaching Your Children Money Management Skills
If you have ever struggled with your own money management issues, you probably know how difficult it can be to deal with personal finance issues. If you have made it to the light at the end of the tunnel, and have been able to overcome financial problems, you also know how much easier it is to get through your day to day life without worrying about money. If you do not want your children to deal with same financial burdens you have struggled with, it is wise to teach them the importance of good money management skills.
Establishing Solid Money Management Habits
Just as you teach your children other good habits, such as brushing their teeth and cleaning up after themselves, you can also teach them good money management habits. The most important is teaching your children the value of saving money and not spending their savings on an impulse.
Give your children the opportunity to save money by rewarding them with an allowance or monetary value for completing tasks outside the realm of their regular responsibilities. To teach children the connection between spending and saving, do not try to dictate how they handle their money. Allow them to spend or save at their discretion. If you know your child wants to purchase a new video game, but he or she wants to spend their money on a bucket full of candy, you can remind your child that if the money is spent it will take longer to reach their goal of getting the video game. Teach them, but don’t tell them what to do.
Practice What You Preach
Although you may have the best intentions when it comes to teaching your children good money management skills, they will not reap the benefits of your efforts unless you are also managing your own money wisely. If your children see you constantly purchasing unnecessary items or overspending, when you tell them how important it is to save their money – the advice will fall on deaf ears. The old saying “do as I say, not as I do” will not work when it comes to teaching children the value of good money management skills. If, on the other hand, your children see you working hard to save money and successfully reaching financial goals, they will be more inclined to follow in your footsteps.
Family Savings Goals
You can even set family savings goals together for fun. If you set a savings goal of a certain amount to reach in a set timeframe to take a family vacation, work with your child to save for a goal within the same timeframe. Your child can set a goal and save so that he or she will have spending money of their own while on the vacation, or for some other item to be used on the vacation. Whatever the family goal is, working together towards a financial goal can be fun and rewarding and can bring the family together.

What are bedbugs/where do bedbugs occur?
Although it may seem as if you're sleeping alone,
you could be snuggling with a nest of bed bugs.
Bed bugs are tiny, wingless insects that feed solely
upon the blood of warm-blooded animals, including
humans. Bed bugs and their relatives have evolved
as nest parasites. Certain kinds inhabit bird nests
and bat roosts and await the return of their hosts;
others have adapted well to living in the nests (homes)
of people.
Hatchling bed bugs are about the size of a poppy seed,
and adults grow to about 1/4 of an inch in length.
From top to bottom they are oval in shape and they
benefit from having a flattened body and six legs.
Females live as long as one year, while males don't
live quite as long. Females can lay up to five eggs
per day and several hundred in a lifetime.
Just after molting, their color ranges from nearly
white or a light tan to a deep brown or burnt orange.
The host's blood may appear as a dark red or black mass
within the bug's body. These bugs are sometimes mistaken
for ticks or small cockroaches.
Bed bugs are most active in the middle of the night
particularly around 3 or 4 am, but when hungry, they
will venture out during the day to seek a host. Because
they never develop wings, bed bugs cannot fly. When
disturbed, bed bugs actively seek shelter in dark cracks
and crevices. Their flattened bodies allow them to conceal
themselves in areas such as curtains, corners inside dressers
or other furniture, cracks in wallpaper, or in the spaces
of wicker furniture, alarm clocks, and even telephones.
They are most abundant in rooms where people sleep, and
they generally hide nearest the bed or other furniture
used for sleeping. Favored hiding sites include the bed
frame, mattress and box spring. Clutter around the room
offers additional sites for these bugs to hide, and increases
the difficulty in eliminating bed bugs once they have
become established.
While it is said bed bugs only live in unsanitary conditions,
they can thrive in clean, sanitary areas too. Crowded living
quarters also cater to bed bugs. Travelers can sometimes run
into bed bugs during visits in hotels or other countries.
While bed bugs feed every seven to 10 days, they can still
survive for months without feeding, so abandoned homes or
buildings can still be home to these parasites.

Why Am I Always Tired?
Do you find yourself struggling to stay awake and
constantly wondering why you're always tired? The
answer might be simple. There are several sleep
disorders that could be responsible for your tiredness.
Now, the good news is that once the sleep disorder is
diagnosed, it is usually easy enough to correct and,
this way, eliminate that always tired feeling. There
are a few things you can do at home if you want to
determine if you have a simple sleep problem or a
serious one - one that might require medical attention.
Keeping a sleep journal is the first thing you should do.
This may shine some light on why you are always tired and
help you to establish a good understanding of your sleep
schedule as well as how many times a night you wake up.
Simply write down the exact time at which you went to bed
and when you awoke during the night. This alone can provide
you with an answer to your question why am I always tired!
If it takes you a long time (usually longer than 15 minutes)
to fall asleep, or if you wake up during the night, your
body might not be getting an adequate amount of rest. This
could result in you feeling always tired.
Another thing that most doctors suggest to people who are
always tired, is to take a closer look at their caffeine
intake during the day and, especially, at night. If you are
consuming an excessive amount of caffeine, it will certainly
hinder your ability to sleep.

Sleep Apnea
Sleep Apnea is commonly found when breathing is paused
for sometime during sleep. This type of apnea lasts
within very few seconds to minutes. Breathing comes
to normal again with a choking sound or a loud snort.
This condition disrupts human’s sleep up to 3 or even
more days in a week during nights. Deep and light sleep
comes simultaneously when breathing is paused. This in
turn makes us tired in the daytime with lack of sleep.
Too much of sleep in daytime is one of the major causes
of Sleep Apnea.
Most of the people are unaware of the fact whether they
are affected by sleep apnea or not, as it happen during
sleep. It is often undiagnosed by doctors as they can’t
rectify the state during visiting hours. No blood tests
exist for this disorder. There are two other names of
Sleep Apnea. One is the Sleep-disordered breathing and
the other is Cheyne-Stokes breathing.
Sleep Apnea is caused when the throat muscles are well
relaxed, while at sleep and does not allow the airway
to be open to permit air to drive into the lungs. While
awake, the airway becomes stiff and opens up allowing
air to flow into the lungs. It is also found that mostly
overweighed people are affected by this apnea in maximum.
It is commonly found in men when compared to women. This
type of symptom gets more common when getting older. In
case of women, they are likely to get affected after their
menopause.
